The Xinsheng Area of the Taipei Expo Park is located at No. 105, Section 3, Xinsheng North Road. Completed in 1978, the area occupies an area of 19.5 hectares and was planned with gorgeous landscapes and plants. It was one of the four major exhibition areas of the 2010 Taipei International Flora Expo.
The Xinsheng Area is equipped with various functional facilities, including the Hsinsheng Park Warm Water Swimming Pool suitable for swimming in the four seasons, a baseball field where baseball games of different scales are held, the Labyrinth Garden beloved by children, and the “Taipei Collectible Botanical Garden-Future” and “Pavilion of Angel Life” retained from the Taipei Floral Expo. There are also the badminton courts and corners where different groups of citizens dance or exercise in the morning or evening.
After the Expo, part of the outdoor exhibition area in the Xinsheng Area has been remodeled into the Taipei Rose Garden where many tea roses, garden roses, and tree roses are grown. After years of efforts, over 700 species of rose have been grown in the garden for citizens to explore the wonder or roses.
Besides a range of roses, arbors of different species are grown in the area. They include the protected bayan tree with a complete and gorgeous crown, the tall and erecting hope pine, the common garcinia crisscrossing along the central axis, the charming flamboyant tree, Taiwan golden-rain tree, orchid tree, coral bean tree, Formosan ash, cotton tree, the hazel bottle tree and elephant apple with special flowers and fruit, and so on. There are over a dozen sculptures of different sizes distributed in different parts of the park, such as the “Papa’s Words,” “Peace on Earth,” etc. They all are worth visiting to explore this novel Xinsheng Area off Taipei Expo Park.
