Built in 1975 with an area of about 5.5 hectares, the Fine Arts Area of the Taipei Expo Park is located east of Section 3, Zhongshan North Road and south of the Taipei Fine Arts Museum. It was one of the four major exhibition areas of the 2010 Taipei International Flora Expo.
During the Expo, the Global Garden Area, Butterfly Pavilion, and Pavilion of Aroma of Flowers were covered in the Fine Arts Area. The Global Garden Area was even the AIPH international outdoor garden competition site for visitors to enjoy the garden views of different cities in the world. The Butterfly Pavilion in the shape of a butterfly chrysalis was the venue where prize presentation ceremonies and art and cultural performances were held during the Expo. The overapplying six-pedal image of the Pavilion of Aroma of Flowers was the flagship souvenir shop of the Expo.
After the Expo, the Fine Arts Area continues to display the beauty of the event. The Butterfly Pavilion has been transformed into a venue for different types of art and cultural performances. The Pavilion of Aroma of Flowers has become the International Pavilion of Indigenous Arts and Cultures where indigenous souvenirs and specialty foods are sold and related events are held on holidays for visitors to explore and understand more about indigenous customs and cultures. Besides appreciating gorgeous park scenes, visitors can enjoy fine arts and explore culture at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum and the Taipei Story House while visiting the Fine Arts Area of Taipei Expo Park. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
